About Me

Hey there, my name is Wyatt Osthus.

I’m a 24 year old photographer, writer, and podcaster who recently graduated from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD with my B.S. in English and Communications. I’ve even more recently transplanted myself to Denver, CO and am still exploring and learning my way around, as well as trying to meet and connect with as many individuals as possible.

My passion for photography first started in my photography class during my Sophomore year of high school in 2012. I became enamored with the way that the image would develop on the paper, and became obsessed with capturing and freezing moments.

Ever since, I’ve been continuing to work to improve my images and voraciously inhale information. I want to be able to create art that communicates the essence of my subject and highlights the beauty in seemingly simple imagery.

I have been rabidly reading and writing since I could do either, and between that consumption of words and graphite, and my time as an English major, I have a much greater appreciation for language and the difficulty that is mastering it. It also gave me an eye for details and story that has helped immensely in nearly every facet of our communicative world. My degree not only showed me the depths of language, but also the complexity in human communication and connection that mixed well with both my political and sales backgrounds. This all fueled my fascination with what drives human behavior, and how brands, images, and movements gain attention.

The combination of words, imagery, and communication has drawn me to creating content for myself and other businesses. We’re in a time of information overload and every single facet from the image, copy, audio, presentation, and audience, play roles in achieving success with content in any business. With this understanding, I hope to help businesses achieve their goals by providing them with quality content, as well as helping them strategize how the content should be used.

I currently work remotely from Denver as a Content Marketer and Sales Rep for the Jacobs Gallery in Deadwood, SD as my first post-college job. I have aspirations to build my business and take control of my future by creating a lasting positive impact, but I know that I still have a lot to learn and am taking every opportunity to do so. I believe that a business can serve the best needs of the planet and the community, while still making money, and I plan to do so. I also hope to innovate and market differently than other photographers have traditionally, I’m so excited to be at the forefront of such an eruption of new media and opportunity.
